BIBLE HISTORY: FROM THE CREATION
GENESIS: Means birth or beginning and is the record of how the heavens and the earth came to be. Genesis 1:1 ‘God created’. This statement is in contrast to all other theories of how the earth was formed and how mankind came to be upon it. The record continues: Genesis 1:3 “God said”. This confirms that the spoken words of God are the essence of what the Bible is recording. He merely had to speak, and the result was as he spoke. (Psalm 33:6,9) This most likely was accomplished by his spirit power through the work of his angels or his “ministering spirits”, Hebrews 1:7 KJV.
The word for ‘God’ in the Hebrew record is elohim and suggests that the angels were employed at the creation. The scriptures record that there were many “Sons of God” at creation, Job 38:7. The word elohim which is used in Psalm 8:5 is quoted by the Apostle Paul in Hebrews 2:7 and uses the Septuagint, which is a Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament, which has the Greek word “aggelos”, or angels. The passage goes on to say the angels are God’s agents performing His tasks at His instruction and answers the directives of creation when “God said”. Other passages support this: “Bless the LORD, you His angels, mighty in strength, who perform His word, obeying the voice of His word!” Psalm 103:20-22, and again in Hebrews 1:7
